In the tranquil heart of Holly, Michigan, Rose Hill Center celebrated another successful flower sale – an annual event that not only blooms with beauty, but also nurtures hope and supports mental health treatment. This cherished tradition continues to bring together the local community and play a crucial role in raising awareness and funds, both of which make a lasting impact on the lives of those seeking mental health support.

Sowing seeds
Rose Hill Center isn’t just a facility; it’s a community dedicated to mental health healing. With a focus on providing expert clinical care in a peaceful environment, we empower our residents to achieve personal healing and reach their goals. And central to this mission is our therapeutic work program, in which every resident is given a role on the farm, in the garden, in the kitchen or with housekeeping. Those lucky enough to be assigned to our horticulture program have the unique responsibility of cultivating the beautiful blooms on display at our flower sale, as well as valuable life skills to help them feel more confident and independent.
Growing together
For our residents, the work begins in the winter – a time when access to the calming and restorative effects of nature is often limited. Thus, our greenhouses become somewhat of a sanctuary, offering solace and therapeutic benefits when they are most needed.
Then, just in time for spring, Mother’s Day and Mental Health Awareness Month, we open our lush greenhouses and gardens to the community, showcasing our stunning selection of “Rose Hill roses,” annuals, perennials, flower planters, hanging baskets, vegetables and more.
Nurturing hope
More than just a garden event, this sale is a cornerstone of support for one of the largest mental health treatment campuses in the country. All proceeds from the sale directly enhance our campus and programming, from developing more enrichment opportunities to creating new facilities like sheds, a butterfly house roof, and even a disc golf course. In 2024, the flower sale raised almost $47,000, plus $900 in generous donations.
Flourishing futures
Every year, families flock to our working farm, which is transformed into a lively petting zoo, featuring free hayrides. And in addition to meeting these community members, we often get to reconnect with individuals who have successfully graduated from a Rose Hill program. In 2024, at least 480 people attended our event.
Blossoming opportunities ahead
As we reflect on the success of the 2024 flower sale, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and participated in this meaningful event. Your commitment to mental health awareness and healing is truly inspiring, and we hope you’ll join us next year. Save the date for May 10, 2025.
